Energy Management

I believe that energy is the fundamental currency of life. Balancing energy input and expenditure is extremely important and difficult in a busy day-to-day life. My Elite Performance Program begins by focussing on optimal energy management. There are so many things that each of us can do to make an immediate impact on our available energy.

Micronutrients and Health

The enzyme systems and hormones that run our energy metabolism in every cell of our body are dependent on the optimum concentration of micronutrients in the local environment. The process of life places our cells in many situations of challenge (for example after injury or surgery) and it is essential we can optimise our energy delivery. I mentor individuals and groups in optimising essential micronutrients to enable peak performance.

Particular emphasis is given to vitamin D, vitamin C, vitamin A, the B vitamin complex, Magnesium, Calcium and Zinc.

Holistic Approach to Nutrition

The key principle behind effective nutrition is careful sourcing of food. A healthy, balanced diet can deliver the majority of calorific and micronutrient requirements, however in certain circumstances it mat be beneficial to supplement certain important elements, for example, Omega-3.

Effective hydration is critical to energy management. Optimising sleep will enable regeneration and repair of damaged tissues.

Measures to reduce all types of stress, from mental exhaustion to oxidative cellular stress will ensure that your holistic approach to nutrition is effective. Studies have shown that yoga and meditation can be particularly effective at improving health an performance. I work as art of a team lead by Dr. Freda Sii at “Wellbeing Strategies” that mentors in holistic approaches to nutrition.
